
How did it start?
Simcha on the
Square was initiated in 2006 by a group of Jewish Culture organisations
and supported by the Mayor of London, to mark the 350th Anniversary of
Jewish settlement in England. The party was enjoyed by an estimated
25,000 people and is set to become a regular feature on London's
calendar
Who is involved?
The event is officially
organised by the JCUK - the Jewish Culture UK which comprises many of
the Jewish Cultural organisations operating in the UK including: Jewish
Music Institute, Jewish Museum, London Jewish Culture Centre, Jewish
Community Centre, Spiro Ark, Ben Uri and many more. For a full list of

In addition a number
of Jewish press and media organisations have sponsored and assisted
Simcha on the Square including: Jewish Renaissance, Jewish News,
Something Jewish
Can anyone come to the event?
Simcha on the Square welcomes everyone regardess of age, religion or ethnic background.
Is there anything for children to do?
Simcha
on the Square is a Jewish culture event for people of all ages. Its
main features are music and dance on the main stage and stalls of
Jewish arts and crafts around the Square.
The Jewish Museum is
presenting a workshop for children
As its a large public space with many people - parents should keep their children close to them at all times.
What else is happening in the Square?
You
will be able to browse a range of stalls on the square selling Jewish
arts and crafts as well as promoting Jewish cultural and community
organisations.
