Klezmatics end European tour with a big splash gig at Simcha on the Square We are delighted to announce that the Klezmatics have just agreed to come to KlezFest following a short tour of Europe. They were originally going to fly back to the States on that Sunday, but once they knew that Simcha on the Square was on, decided to divert to London en Route. Two of the members of the band will be making a quick dash for the airport immediately after playing in order to get back to New York for other commitments. So all in all, Simcha and London is pretty lucky and very happy to have the Klezmatics here!

Young, Trendy and Jewish
Jewish Culture is becoming in vogue (its the new Asian!) and Simcha will feature a number of upcoming acts who use their Jewish roots to inspire their music. Max Pashm, a DJ and producer, will be appearing at Simcha with tracks from his new, cleverly titled album Never Mind The Balkans which features Jewish and Eastern Meditteranean sounds over hefty dance beats. We also have Avivit Caspi, a London-based Israeli and her band playing original pop/folk ballads. You might have heard her last year singing Hatikvah for the Israel/England game - what a voice! And we have another surprise artist, to be confirmed soon.

Fun for the Kids
Simcha on the Square 2008 promises to the best Simcha yet as far as children are concerned. In addition to the fantastic array of games and activities provided by the Jewish Museum, there will be several performers and entertainers in the children's area of the Square including "The Rumple-Stilt-Steins".
